Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free
I took God’s hand when I heard my name.
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to cook, to bake,
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I took His hands when he called my name.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a hug, a kiss
Ah, yes, these things, I too, will miss.
My life’s been full, I savored much
Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.
All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed,
I am now at peace forever,
Safely home in Heaven at last.
