Guadalupe “Lupe” Casares

Guadalupe (Lupe) Casares loving mother, “Meme” grandmother, great-grandmother, wife and friend born in Laureles, Texas on December 12, 1928 went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 3, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. Lupe was 82 years old and a long lifetime resident of Bayview, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband Raul Casares. She is survived by her daughters, Juanita (Janie) Rey + Abrego of Houston, Texas, Cris (Juan) Naranjo of Laureles, Texas and Martha ( John +) Sailers of Houston, Texas.

She is also survived by six grandchildren, Yvonne Abrego Wall, Monica Abrego Elmer of Katy, Texas, Crystal Naranjo Alvarado of San Benito, Texas , Sergio Naranjo of San Benito, Texas, Orlando Naranjo of Gainsville , Georgia and Taylor Gibson Sailers of Houston, Texas and 11 great grandchildren, Mason and Zane Elmer, Chase and Collin Wall of Katy, Texas, Stephanie, Amy and Fransisco Alvarado all of San Benito, Texas, Stacen, Skyler, Shayla and Sergio Naranjo all of San Benito, Texas.

Extended family, Silvano+ and Antonia+ Amaya, Maria Luisa + and Hilaro Ybarra of Brownsville, Texas, Oliva Salinas+ of Rancho Viejo, Terry Parker, of Gonzales Louisiana, Raquel and Sidronio Rodriguez of Los Cuates, Texas, Mary Martha and Mack Miller of Los Fresnos, Texas, Rosalinda and Tom Sullivan of Brownsville, Texas , Silvano and Jaime Amaya of Brownsville, Texas and Jesus and Carmen Amaya of Bayview, Texas. Honorary granddaughter- Belinda “ Bo” Gement of Houston, Texas and niece Janie and Alejandro Salazar of Artesia , New Mexico.

Pallbearers are Juan Naranjo, Sergio Naranjo , Chad Wall, Chris Elmer, Owen Finch Jr., Sidronio Rodriguez, Mark Gement and Omero Rubio.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Ramon A. Solis and Dr. Paul Bing both of Katy, Texas. A presentation of gifts will be given by her great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank her Physicians, Dr. Solis and Dr. Bing for their friendship and medical attention during these past years. A special thank you to the staff of Home Health Resources in Houston , Texas , Tim Frankel, RN, Rosa Acuri, HCA and Cathy Horecka, PT.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 8, 2011 from 1p.m. – 9 p.m. with a reciting of the rosary at 7 p.m. The funeral service will begin with a mass at St. Cecilia Catholic Church Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 10 a.m. with the interment to follow to Los Cuates Cemetery in Los Fresnos, Texas.
