Rodolfo Rene Guerra

Rodolfo Rene Guerra went to be with the Lord on July 18, 2011 after a short fight with the complications of his illness.

He was a Vietnam Veteran and served his country proudly, along with his two other brothers, Ray and Richard in the United States Marine Corps. After being honorably discharged from the Marines, he came back to San Benito and later went to work in Chicago. Upon returning from Chicago he settled here in San Benito and worked at several professions until his retirement.

He is preceded in death by his brother Rolando C. Guerra.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Montez Guerra; his children Carlos Rene, Crystal Ann Guerra and stepson, Rene Eduardo Torres (Priscilla), all of San Benito, TX. He is also survived by his children from a previous marriage: son, Hector G. Guerra from Brownsville, TX; and daughters, Beatrice and Laura Ann Guerra, from San Antonio, TX and Arlington, TX respectively. He is also survived by his parents, Rodolfo G. and Elvira C. Guerra from San Benito, TX; brothers Ray C. Guerra (Laura) from Arvada, Colorado; Richard C. Guerra from Harlingen, TX; sisters, Minerva C. Sturgill from San Antonio, TX; Norma Guerra from Austin, TX; and Graciela G. Aguirre (Rick) from Harlingen, TX. Other survivors include aunts, Viola Gonzales, Irma Tamez and Olga Rodriguz; uncles, Hector F. Guerra and Ruben Corkill, plus numerous cousins.

There will be visitation on Wednesday at Henry Thomae Funeral Home at 701 North Bowie Street, San Benito, Texas from 1-9 p.m., with rosary at 8 p.m. in the Thomae Funeral Chapel. There will be a mass at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church on Thursday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Mont Meta Cemetery with full military honors.
