The San Benito High School FFA’s inaugural livestock show, the Sonny Brazil Classic, was held Saturday, Jan. 28.

According to San Benito High School Agriculture Teacher Eddie Garcia, there were 160 entries, of which 14 schools participated along with eight 4H clubs. But the Brothers Cavazos would be standing amongst the best of the event.

Kicking off the stock show was a presentation honoring Sonny Brazil’s memory, in which his daughters were present. Sonny Brazil was a longtime agriculture teacher in San Benito and the namesake of a multi-million dollar agricultural complex located behind the Veteran’s Memorial Academy, where Saturday’s event was held.
