Lieutenant Isaac Vasquez of the association said, “We’re trying to establish a bargaining team. We’re going to try to get all the officers in and get the issues that affect them and what kind of things they want to see in the next contract.”

On the nature of their terms, Vasquez said he was unable to comment and explained that he had not yet had an opportunity to discuss the matter with the other members.

City Manager Manuel Lara also had no comment when asked about what he expected to come out of the collective bargaining with the police department.
