RIO HONDO — With the 2012-2013 baseball and softball seasons coming to a close in Rio Hondo, recognition is due for both ballclubs.

“I think the girls did very well,” said Head Softball Coach Brett Esparza of the bi-district qualifying Lady Bobcats. “We were very young this year. We started five freshmen, so it wasn’t expected for us to make as much noise as we did. It said a lot about the future that we’re going to have.”

The Lady Bobcats finished the season with a 17-15 record and will graduate only four seniors, adding more hype to next year’s softball season as underclassmen who performed well this year will return.
