The controversial proposal by the San Benito Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees to purchase Android tablets from the father of a sitting board member is actually the dad’s second attempt at submitting the bid.

In April, Jesus “Chuy” Aguilera, owner of Chuy’s Custom Sports in San Benito and father of Board Secretary June Aguilera, submitted a bid proposing the sale of Android tablets to the school district.

How do we know there was no leak, in regards to the bids? In the paper it said that another relative had bid the same amount, isn’t that a coincidence. Either way, if they had previous knowledge, they would both have profited. Man if these boardmembers think, they’re gonna win another election then they have another thing coming, the taxpayers will not give them a second look. But mean time their gonna drag this district to the ground, but it’s only my opinion. And i’m allowed to have one.

talk about P squared! if only june’s dad had the guts to run for school board himself instead of using his daughter, repeat – his daughter, as a puppet. putting everything together, it makes sense why he didn’t. his private enterprise has seen an increase in sales via the sbcisd since his daughter was elected to the board. it’s clear he wishes to continue this process. android tablets? really? why buy any tablets when miller jordan has ipads via grants (free) – rewarding schools and students with ipads for poor performance is ridiculous (but that’s another story). apply for grants instead of buying them.

My san benito relatives told me to watch this video. What an amazing school board! If you watch the SBCISD Board Meeting of July 9 that is posted at sbcisd.net, you will see that when Oscar M (board member) asked if the Chey A business was in a cooperative, that the Purchasing Agent said “I decided to bid it out”. Wow, Wow….Really Mr. Garcia. You of all people know what attorneys have said about giving Local Business the bids when others are part of the DIR or Cooperative. I attended your session that you organized at SPI and heard the lady myself. You are right that YOU can do this, but YOU, TEA and everyone else knows that it is NOT GOOD PRACTICE ESPECIALLY WHEN OTHER COMPANIES HAVE IT ON A COOPERATIVE. Shame on you sir as you are a sitting board member at South Texas ISD… you say it to everyone who will hear you…. and 25 plus years as SBCISD Purchasing Agent….
You, your wife the Special Education Director, the VMA principal and the Technology Director Villarreal are some group of people. Let us not forget that three of these same people do not pay SBCISD Taxes according to my relatives in San Benito. Federal dollars or not, it belongs to the STUDENTS of SBCISD. and not for the interim ridicoudlous salary.
