Eleodoro Garza Valdez entered into eternal peace on August 21, 2014. “Leo” was born on August 29th, 1930 to Leopoldo Valdez and Librada Garza.

He was preceded in death by wife, Peggy Munsel; his parents; and sisters: Margarita V. Ledesma, Olivia V. Gutierrez, and Lupita V. Castillo.

He is survived by his children: Leopoldo Valdez, Yolanda Gaytan (Rufino), and Olga Land (Mark); grandchildren: Laura Gaytan, Sheri Land, Lilyan Jimenez (Jorge Tello-husband), Joshua Land, Zachariah Land, Ryan Gaytan (Nalley-wife), and Claudia Valdez; great grandchildren: Reynaldo Ratliff, Gabriela Ratliff, Adelyn Gaytan, and Abram Gaytan; as well as several loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 25, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito.

Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Interment will follow at San Benito City Cemetery.
