SAN BENITO — In a wild District 32-6A basketball race, there are no gimmes.
So after the ’Hounds’ 67-47 win over Brownsville Lopez on Friday night, head coach Eddie Abrego was relieved to see his squad notch an all-important league victory.
“Each game is gonna be a dogfight,” Abrego said. “Yeah, we won by 20, but Lopez barely lost to Rivera, one of the favorites in the district…In my opinion, basketball doesn’t separate the teams like football does. Everything’s real close.”
