With the most successful regular season in school history behind them, the Rio Hondo Lady Bobcats soccer team find themselves in rewarding yet unfamiliar territory as they now start preparation for their first ever playoff birth. It was truly a dreamlike season for the young program and hopefully the start of a new trend for the Lady ’Cats.
Led by seniors Bethany Atkinson and Kelsie Landrum, Rio Hondo has put together enough wins to punch their first ticket into the postseason, a feat acknowledged by the two captains. “It’s incredible because we were actually part of the first team to ever play here so we created history once and now we’re doing it again,” said Atkinson, “It’s hard to even describe this feeling.”
