Local author recalls Alaskan adventures

For some folks, even thinking about making a transition from San Benito to Alaska might seem unbearable. For 74-year old George Short, who moved to the “Last Frontier” back in 1961 with his family, the shift brought out the best in him, to say the least. “It was the most invigorating experience of my life by far,” said Short.
After his junior year at San Benito High School in 1959, Shorts’ father, who was a priest at First Baptist Church, moved to Alaska to take over at a new church.
