City’s warning prompts building owner to clean up property

Rundown buildings are nothing new to the downtown San Benito area. Bricks falling from the sky, however, now that’s bound to start up some controversy.

A few weeks back, a building adjacent to the Hotel Stonewall Jackson, one that at one point was a respected church, collapsed with bricks literally falling from the side of the building to the ground. The fact Building before ONLINEthere is a muffler shop nearby as well as groundskeepers that work in the areas where the bricks had fallen raised safety concerns that clearly had to be dealt with, according to city officials.
