Police: Store clerk stole $3,000 in lottery tickets

The manager at one of the local Stripes convenience stores had to call police when he realized over $3,200 of lottery tickets had been stolen by an employee, police said. According to a police report, Victor Bernabe had been stealing the lottery tickets over a two week span with the total cash value of the tickets estimated to be around $3,280.
After Bernabe began to miss several days of work, the manager of the store confronted him about the stolen tickets, to which Bernabe then confessed, the report stated.
