As the country mourns the deaths of five service members gunned down last Thursday in Tennessee, military members from all over the nation are finding their way of paying their respects to the fallen soldiers. Michael Vandergriff of San Benito and J.D. “Pick” Pickering from Mercedes have taken it upon themselves to personally protect their local military recruiting offices, standing outside the Harlingen building carrying an AR-15 and M-4 respectively.

Well good for them. That’s pretty brave of them. Hopefully, there is never a reason for them to fire a single round.
