SBCISD HIRES NEW SOFTBALL COACH

For the first time in nearly two decades, the San Benito Lady ’Hounds softball team will have a new head coach when the season rolls around in February. The SBCISD school board voted unanimously at a school board meeting on Tuesday to appoint former Weslaco High, Howard University, and University of Texas Permian Basin softball star Krystal Leal as the next in line to take over the most successful and consistent program in the Valley. Leal spent the last three years as a first assistant Varsity coach for Donna and the Weslaco Lady Panthers.
