The San Benito Police Department is in the middle of their “Click-it-or-ticket” campaign and they have already written out over 100 tickets for the sole reason of not wearing a seat belt. Through the campaign, the SBPD received a grant from the state to approve overtime pay for officers so they can put an emphasis on drivers wearing their seat belts.
The campaign started on May 23 and will run until June 5 and according to Interim Police Chief Michael Galvan, the official number of tickets as of Tuesday afternoon stood at 109.

wow, with all the burglaries, drugs n dealers, n gang activities…seat belt tickets n OT pd for by the taxpayers….whatta freak’in JOKE…Clowns in the Circus
Meanwhile, these low level drug dealers do their dealings in the early morning hours down the block where I live, and the block behind where I live. And yet, they still aren’t caught or no relevant surveillance is going on.
Wow,13 tickets a day for not wearing your seatbelt. Great job SBPD keep up the GOOD WORK.
And the poverty level just went up in San Benito Now lets see how many of those tickets show up to get paid.
lol bat they wont! Eventually they will be arrested and judge Garza will set them up on a 10 year payment plan, for that charge and all the other bs charges added on. I was born and raised in SB, its has always been corrupt, but this is getting ridiculous. I’m glad I don’t live there anymore
Corruption at its best! “To protect and serve,” is not in order any more, its more like, “make a buck and we dont give a fu… about you peasants any more!” How about using that OT to do something positive for the citizens!? Maybe stopping these people and give them a warning and info on the safety of seat bealts!? Ohh but that wont generate funds for the city state!
you want them to issue over 100 warnings? c’mon man. SBPD probably prevented future injuries if not saved lives with this campaign. buckle up.
Yes, why not? If they are truly worried about the people safety (not the mullah) why not? This goes to show you where this corrupt systems intentions are at. In reality they should not be telling us, “if we should” or “should not” be wearing seat belts. Per our constitution these are un just laws….the corruption that our forefathers warned us about!
