Three San Benito men were arrested this past Thursday after a month-long investigation into the sale of narcotics.

According to the District Attorney’s Office, 21-year old David Ayala Jr., 24-year old Carlos Lopez Jr. and 22-year old Freddy Vargas-Lopez, were all arrested after members of a special investigations unit executed a search warrant at a residence off the 300 block of Spears Street in San Benito. The investigation was launched after a concerned citizen complained about suspicious activity at a residence that was a block away from an elementary school.  During the search warrant, investigators seized approximately half a pound of Marijuana already packaged for sell, scales, drug paraphernalia, a rifle and a handgun.

A month long investigation that netted eight ounces of marijuana sounds like a waste of time, manpower, and resources that could be used for much more serious crimes. Not much more to say than that.
