The trumpet sounded for a faithful servant, Olga M. Cavazos, on August 3, 2016 to join her Lord and savior in heaven. Olga was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. Her life was dedicated for 44 years to the education of youth. Olga was also a fierce advocate and supporter of the FFA. Above all she lived her life in service for her Lord and Savior.
Olga is survived by her daughter Denise C. Lopez (Luis), sons Daniel Cavazos III (Raquel), and David Cavazos. Also surviving her are six grandchildren, Daniel B. Cavazos IV, Christian T. Cavazos, Alejandro, Alfonso, Michell, Marlin Roque, great grandchildren Arturo Jr., Miranda, Diego, Arleth, Alexandra and Evan. One sister Carmela Cavazos (Nancy), one brother Alberto Montemayor Jr. (Sherrie) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Olga was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 42 years, Daniel Cavazos, parents, Alberto Montemayor, Angelica Garcia Montemayor, her sister Minerva Cargill (Charles), and one grandchild Bethany Leeann Cavazos.
Visitations will be held on Friday, August 5, 2016, at the San Benito Funeral Home Chapel from 2 to 9 p.m. with a celebration of life service at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016, at 1 p.m. at the San Benito Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Armando Escamilla leading the service. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Pallbearers taking her to her eternal resting place are her sons Daniel Cavazos III, David Cavazos, and Luis Lopez; her grandsons Daniel B. Cavazos, Christian T. Cavazos, Alejandro and Alfonso Roque.
Olga will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and many in the community whose lives she touched.
