National Council of La Raza, START Center hold summit locally

A Washington D.C.-based organization is working in conjunction with the START (South Texas Adult Resource and Training) Center to help promote leadership in area colonias.

Janet Hernandez, the Civic Engagement Project Manager for the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) visited San Benito’s START Center on Monday, May 12 and Tuesday, May 13 to conduct a Colonia Leadership Summit.

“The reason why I’m here is because the National Council of La Raza is trying to develop leadership across the United States in areas where the Latino community has a strong presence,” said Hernandez.
