The San Benito Public Housing Authority has received a letter requesting an investigation.
The letter – dated Feb. 4, 2014 –was obtained by the News via the Freedom of Information Act. It questions the process of awarding the contract for Stone Village Housing, which broke ground in October 2014.
The letter, addressed to interim director Janet A. Velez, can be read below:
“After careful review and research I have concluded that the award of Stone Village Housing Development has not been awarded by competitive proposals. The reasons and references are listed as follows:
